how does the "match scale" toggle switch work ?

Hi everyone !

I was wondering how does the “match scale” toggle switch work in the RigidAlignment node ? What is the mathematical background of this switch ?

Hi,

The RigidAlignment node solving an optimization problem to find a transformation between two models based on a set of point correspondences between them. By default, we have to find rotation angles and translation parameters. And if the “Match scale” switch is set, we add an additional parameter for scaling.
